All the Rage 02:07
Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Friday nights spent twiddling with spoons Wash more dishes, topless kids heading to bed soon Quiet murmurs by the couch Standing in mirrors, perfecting posture, losing slouch Mothers watching brothers learning kisses Your Christmas wishes bundled up in closet doors Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Visit neighbours, paint your nails Wet fingertips slide down and slip practicing scales No need for wood pushed in the fire The trees are trimmed, the lights are dimmed, you're getting tired Father, just an instance from a distance Forgive your child for simply being born Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out Sit and take out all the rage out (All the rage, all the rage) Sit and take out all the rage out (All the rage, all the rage) Sit and take out all the rage out (All the rage, all the rage) Sit and take out all the rage out (All the rage, all the rage)

Bon Regatta 03:40
Sniffing pixie sticks By the corner store With your husband’s kids And I guess they’re yours Guess you’re back in town And it seems so am I Why’d you bring him here Did someone we know die Supreme in my ignorance Suppressing every stale instance Where pieces of your matter Wavelike consume me in patterns And our love just becomes data And I sail off bon regatta Au revior, abientot It’s so sad to see you go There’s a Greyhound bus Back about three years Where I made no fuss As you waved in tears And I crawled back to The place a block away From the place where she Oh no, I cannot say Supreme in my ignorance Suppressing every stale instance Where pieces of your matter Wavelike consume me in patterns And our love just becomes data And I sail off bon regatta Au revior, abientot It’s so sad to see you go Who am I to you What do I represent Am I coming through Am I dissonant I have been split apart Under an expert’s eye And even pulled apart You’re all intertwined Supreme in my ignorance Suppressing every stale instance Where pieces of your matter Wavelike consume me in patterns And our love just becomes data And I sail off bon regatta Au revior, abientot It’s so sad to see you go It's so sad to see you go It's so sad to see you go

Write another stanza, write another stanza down Let the spring bounce off the ground And the water sprayed up on my jeans From my bicycle will not bother me 'Cause I've got a lot of memories in my head That a helmet struggles to surround And if I'm going to find something to keep them in I hear your roofing is the best in town Plant your easter kisses on my cheek Yes, these candies taste too sweet Tell me I'm handsome, "You're handsome, too" Don't let this winter melt on you Running from the sunlight running me straight out of town Turn this bike around Because the tracks I've left are deep and pure And they'll follow me, for sure 'Cause I've got a lot of worries in my head That these memories cannot shut out And the only way I know to keep them hid I hear your roofing is the best in town Plant your easter kisses on my cheek Yes, these candies taste too sweet Tell me I'm handsome, "You're handsome, too" Don't let this winter melt on you Plant your easter kisses on my cheek Yes, these candies taste too sweet Tell me I'm handsome, "You're handsome, too" Don't let this winter melt on you I'm alive, I guess I'm alive, I guess I'm alive, I guess for now I'm alive, I hear your roofing is the best in town Plant your easter kisses on my cheek Yes, these candies taste too sweet Tell me I'm handsome, "You're handsome, too" Don't let this winter melt on you Plant your easter kisses on my cheek Yes, these candies taste too sweet Tell me I'm handsome, "You're handsome, too" Don't let this winter melt on you I'm alive, I guess I'm alive, I guess I'm alive, I guess I'm alive, for now

Such Wrecks 04:59
The comets have such space to cross No rime its rhyme, warm albatross A starlight swim, a cavern’s cost Without eyes Burn the baby’s bounce and bubble An anarchist amongst the rubble Sung tongues of love, a winsome trouble What help am I Stephanie she stung the devil Bit off their nose and laughed and revelled They’re tossing rings, I’m left dishevelled Bled but wry Some populace all prim and proper I’m met by winks from knowing doctors The brothers came, ransacked and conquered Moat is dry There’s no such luck, such wrecks as us There’s no such luck, such wrecks as us There’s no such luck, such wrecks as us Seabirds dive aside the beach Carrion inside their beaks Ice cream cones and worms and seeds Candy floss I pick my teeth and whine and purr Ticks entangled in my fur Midday’s glare, to care, incur Heaven’s loss Sweet Gabrielle, her speech is short No chance to counter or retort Loiter, linger, close the door Angel dust No Father’s blessing on my name No Son of God, nor Daughter came They said inherit holy blame Hang the cross There’s no such luck, such wrecks as us There’s no such luck, such wrecks as us There’s no such luck, such wrecks as us People pray and then deliver Tortured tears then reconsider Sink or float, you’re in the river Mind the shore I was young, carved blunt, unswayed A hellion, a brute, a knave Strung to a bed, I misbehaved Say no more Michael, Michelle, countless names Pitchforks stormed celestial gates An amethyst, a shaken grave Raise the floor Woke up countless times from dreaming Diagnosed a crowded meaning Beliefs mounted and misleading Faith restored I wished for luck, for wrecks as us I came unstuck, rose right from rust They sing my name, I writhe and thrust I bleed for you, I choke on dust Gave up on love, sold out my lust A moonless night, a boom, a bust I wished for us, I twitched, I fussed There’s no such luck, such wrecks as us

about

Life rarely moves this slow. And yet it pulses and percolates in place. Like Willie says, still is still moving to me.

JEB the QB came down to the Royal City as the winter got milder this year, all before everything went hush. I wanted him to follow me down a drum machine, plunky synth twee-folk wormhole. Something that would've gotten me a spot on the Pink Couch Sessions. Something fit for fall as summer sizzles away.

We drank Guy Fieri's American Diner Blend coffee. We watched Justin Townes Earle and Malcolm Holcombe live cuts. We used my turntable speakers for monitors. Katie Lammert came on the Sunday and laid down just what we needed Ocasek style. Aaron Goldstein shone from home later on on the sunshine pedal steel.

Two songs I wrote over 10 years ago, the others over the last two years. They all sound wonderful thanks to JEB doing his wonders and Matt Weston on the master boards.
